Agafonov Slava - biography, career, hobbies, job, and life.

Agafonov Viacheslav senior computer software engineer with over 5 years experience in programming and 10 years experience in IT technologies. I like to concentrate on design of enterprise software, look what makes architecture reliable and customizable, find practices and design patterns essential to create functional and scalable software for high-quality products that can be marketed faster and cost-effectively.

My career started in 2005 with Altron, one of the largest Ukrainian IT suppliers of complex decisions and innovation for legal surveillance, emergency and dispatching services, aircrafts and call centers in Ukraine. My specialization in Computer Systems and Networks has helped me develop a big number of client-server applications for national security, private entities and telephone exchanges. I used to work on C++ and C# languages in front-end and back-end programs. Some projects were developed with the help of QT library and Windows Forms (WinForms) for .NET. Development was done with a lot of libraries for telephone stations hardware (TCP/IP, UDP, SCCP, TCAP, SS7), which facilitate telephone exchange, sending broadcast packages through different networks and system architectures. After a couple of projects I was involved in interception certifications for all kinds of standards on telephone exchange hardware (MTS, KyivStar, UkrTelecom, Utel, InterTelecom etc).

Then in 2008 was hired at Team International, an IT professional services company that provides world-class offshore software development and quality assurance with head office in Orlando. TEAM International is a truly global organization with offices in the USA and Ukraine and I gained big experience working with American, Indian, British colleagues and overseas customers. TODC has the 3rd level of capability maturity (CMMI) and is a Microsoft Certified Partner. Now the company is using up-to-date informational technology solutions, all advances of the latest Microsoft .NET technologies such as ASP.NET, WPF, ASP.NET MVC frameworks, Java, Silverlight, Flex, iPhone development and other RIA technologies.

In the beginning of 2010 I entered Global Logic Company. GL is a world-wide research and development software company with headquarters in Washington, USA. Global Logic is one of the best IT companies in Ukraine and India (Hewitt – 2007, 2008), has more than 3000 people around the world with 1600 in Ukraine and continues growing fast. The company has a lot of medical software research and development customers. My current custom is Medtronic and my project is O-arm Surgical Imaging System, a multi-dimensional surgical imaging platform that is optimized to be used in spine, orthopedic and trauma-related surgeries. It provides real-time, intra-operative imaging of a patient's anatomy with high quality images and a large field-of-view in both two and three dimensions. This software includes all the necessary features that real surgeons need and highly update quality of surgery on new level.

As to my background, I was born in 1985 in Lugansk, one of the major industrial cities in Eastern Ukraine with population of about half a million people. I lived there till I left school in 2002 and entered Kharkov National Aerospace University . Now my wife Anastasia, she is designer, and I live in Kharkov. We like spending time outside together in our free time cycling. We like traveling and we have already visited Cuba, Russia, Dominican Republic and the USA.
